A person who aspires to become a radio disk jockey should obviously have a passion for music and a huge knowledge database of music. To become a radio disk jockey a person should have taste for music and great knowledge of music. A good radio disk jockey should know how to entertain people and make sure that they are having a good time and enjoying the music. As a radio disk jockey plays a lot of music, knowledge of what people like listening to, what kind of crowd enjoys what kind of music, where to play what music, and many aspects like these are required. A radio disk jockey proposes, develop, record, edit and mix audio pieces involves poets and poetry. A radio disk jockey generates and distributes reports including but not limited to billing, avails, affidavits and contract confirmation. A radio disk jockey maintains currency with local, national, and international news, and finds places of connection with poetry. A radio disk jockey also works closely with the radio news and public affairs director.
A passion for music and a huge knowledge database of music is required for radio disk jockey jobs. Two years of experience is preferred for radio disk jockey jobs. Communication skills, radio production skills, including audio editing using Adobe Audition, are desirable for radio disk jockey jobs.
